Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India will provide eligibility criteria to CBSE for preparing the All India Merit AIR List. The ranks will be made for the successful candidates of NEET – 2016 on the basis of the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India. In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for a particular academic year, it is important for the candidates to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test to MBBS/BDS Courses held for the academic year. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, need to know that the the minimum marks for the candidates will be at 40th percentile.
The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the Al India common merit list in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses. To be eligible for the admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, a candidate must have pased in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology at the Qualifying Examination as mentioned in Graduate Medical Education Regulations-197 and BDS Course Regulations, 207 and in addition must have come in the merit list of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.Read more: NEET 2016: Errors in three questions in AIPMT NEET Phase 2 regarding some questions
The merit list of the eligible and successful Candidates who have opted for 15% Al India quota seats will be prepared by the CBSE on the basis of score obtained in the NET – 2016. The merit list will be equal to the number of seats available for allotment in MBBS/BDS courses under 15% Al India Quota. There will be w waiting list equal to 4 times of the merit list. The list of successful candidates (Merit List/Waitng List) will also be forwarded to the Directorate General of Health Services (Medical Examination Cell), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for the purpose of allotment of seats by Online Counseling to 15% Al India Quota Seats.
